Luzardo ("we", "our", or "the app") is a cattle management and weight estimation application. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

Account Information

Email address and name (provided during sign-up or via Google/Apple sign-in)
Authentication data managed by our identity provider (Clerk)

Ranch and Cattle Data

Ranch name, country, and state/province
Cattle records including names, breeds, birth dates, gender, and notes
Weight measurements and estimation history

Photos and Images

Photos of cattle that you take or select for weight estimation
Photos are first processed on your device for an instant weight estimate
When you have an internet connection, photos are uploaded to our servers for a more accurate server-side prediction
Uploaded photos may be retained and used to train and improve our AI weight estimation models. Photos used for training are de-identified and not linked to your personal account. By using the weight estimation feature, you consent to this use. If you do not wish for your photos to be used for model training, please contact us at the email below to opt out.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored locally on your device and synced to our secure servers. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. Authentication is managed by Clerk, a SOC 2 Type II certified identity provider. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Locations

United States — Primary infrastructure for US-based users (hosted on Railway, US region)
European Union — EU infrastructure for EU-based users (hosted on Railway, Amsterdam region)

We route your data to the region closest to you based on your ranch location. If you are in the EU/EEA, your data is processed and stored within the EU unless you explicitly consent otherwise.

Offline Functionality

Luzardo is designed to work offline. Your cattle records, weight data, and estimation results are stored locally on your device and synchronized with our servers when an internet connection is available.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Clerk — Authentication and user management (SOC 2 Type II certified)
Amplitude — App usage analytics
Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — Optional authentication methods
Railway — Cloud infrastructure and data hosting
Amazon S3 — Photo and image storage

Data Retention

Account and ranch data — Retained for as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
Cattle and weight records — Retained for as long as your account is active.
Photos — Photos used for weight estimation are retained on our servers. De-identified copies may be retained indefinitely for model training purposes, even after account deletion.
Usage analytics — Retained for up to 24 months, then automatically deleted.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate data
Erasure — Request deletion of your account and associated data
Data portability — Request an export of your data in a machine-readable format
Objection — Object to processing based on legitimate interest, including the use of your photos for model training
Restriction — Request that we limit how we process your data
Withdraw consent — Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time

For EU/EEA Residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For California Residents (CCPA)

Children's Privacy

Luzardo is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us to have it removed.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the app or by email. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
